  Altace Uses

Altace is used for:
Treating high blood pressure alone or with other medicines. It is also used to decrease the risk of heart attack, stroke, and death in certain patients. It is also used to manage heart failure and improve survival after a heart attack. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. This medicine is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels. This helps to lower blood pressure.

  How to use Altace

How to use Altace:

- Use this medicine as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Take this medicine by mouth with or without food.
- This medicine should usually be swallowed whole. If you have difficulty swallowing the capsule, it can be opened and the contents sprinkled on a small amount (about 4 oz) of applesauce or mixed in a half glass (4 oz/120 mL) of water or apple juice. It is best to eat or drink the entire mixture immediately after mixing. The mixture may be stored at room temperature for up to 24 hours or in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
- Continue to take this medicine even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.
- If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
- Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use this medicine.
