Flovent is used to prevent common asthma symptoms, including wheezing and difficulty breathing. It works by reducing inflammation in your airways. It is typically most effective when taken on a daily basis, and it should not be confused with a quick-relief ‘rescue’ inhaler. You will need to use a different quick-relief inhaler if you experience sudden symptoms of asthma.
The most common side effects of Flovent are hoarseness and throat irritation. If you have either of these symptoms and they persist or get worse, tell your doctor.
