Renova is a retinoid, which is a form of vitamin A. It comes as a topical cream that is applied to the face in a thin layer once a day to help reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles, skin discoloration, and rough patches of skin. It works by promoting new skin cell growth, but will not reverse skin aging or sun damage. If your dermatologist prescribes this medication, they should also discuss a broader skin care program that will help you get the most benefit from Renova.
Some people have experienced a mild stinging or burning sensation immediately after applying Renova. This medication may cause other skin reactions, including dryness, redness, peeling, or itching, especially in the first few weeks of treatment.
