This medication is a form of Vitamin A called a retinoid, and it works by helping the skin heal itself faster as well as by reducing the release of natural substances that cause acne, such as oil.
The most common side effect of Myorisan is skin dryness in or around your eyes, lips, or nose (which may cause nosebleeds). However, some side effects are severe and warrant medical attention, including: changes in mood or behavior, severe skin reactions, hallucinations, sleep problems, jaundice, seizure, severe headache, vision or hearing problems, pain when swallowing, bone or joint pain, unusual back pain, sudden numbness or weakness, lightheadedness, shortness of breath, severe chest or stomach pain, paleness, dark urine, severe diarrhea, tarry or bloody stool, or rectal bleeding.
Myorisan is a branded generic medication, and there are also alternate generic brands, including zenatane and claravis. The equivalent brand name medication is Accutane, but it's no longer on the market.
