Millipred is a corticosteroid and works by altering how the immune system functions in order to reduce swelling. It can be used to treat a broad spectrum of conditions, from certain blood disorders to acute multiple sclerosis.
Common side effects include insomnia, mood changes, dizziness, headache, acne, dry skin, thickening skin, slow wound healing or bruising, increased sweating, changes in amount and location of body fat, bloating, nausea, or stomach pain. Rare but serious side effects may include: seizure, unusual thoughts or behavior, severe depression, vision changes, feeling short of breath, rapid swelling or weight gain, coughing up blood, bloody or tarry stool, dangerously high blood pressure, pancreatitis, or dangerously low potassium.
