This medication is a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by killing the bacteria causing the infection.

Severe side effects require immediate medical attention and may include: severe skin infection, confusion or agitation, hallucinations, jaundice, severe stomach pain, unusual or easy bruising, unusual bleeding especially from soft tissue like your nose and mouth or rectum, and little or no urination.
