This medication is a combination drug used to treat but not prevent cold sores that develop on the lips and around the mouth due to herpes. It shouldn't be ingested or used on soft membranes like the inside of your mouth, in your nose, or in your eyes. It contains hydrocortisone (a corticosteroid that treats inflammation) and acyclovir (an antiviral that slows the infection so the body can fight it naturally).
