Treating schizophrenia. It is also used alone or with other medicines (eg, lithium, valproate) to treat bipolar disorder (manic-depression). It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. This medicine an antipsychotic. It may work by altering the balance of certain chemicals that occur naturally in the brain, which are responsible for thinking and behavior.

  How to use Geodon

How to use Geodon:

- Use this medicine as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- An extra patient leaflet is available with this medicine. Talk to your pharmacist if you have questions about this information.
- Take this medicine by mouth with food.
- Swallow this medicine whole. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing.
- Taking this medicine at the same time each day will help you remember to take it.
- Take this medicine on a regular schedule to get the most benefit from it.
- It may take a few weeks for you to notice the benefits of this medicine. Continue to take this medicine even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.
