This medication is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist that treats high blood pressure and congestive heart failure by blocking certain natural substances that can narrow blood vessels, thereby keeping blood flowing normally and allowing the heart to work efficiently.
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, cold symptoms like a sore throat, and back pain. These side effects only need medical attention if they persist or get worse. However, severe side effects do need medical attention. These can include: fever, feeling unusually tired, unexplained muscle pain or weakness, dark urine, shortness of breath, swelling in feet and ankles, difficult or painful urination, feeling like you may pass out, dizziness, fast or slow heartbeat, or loss of movement.
