Actoplus Met is an oral diabetes medication that contains two drugs: metformin (a biguanides) and pioglitazone (a thiazolidinediones). Always used in combination with changes in lifestyle, diet, and exercise to help prevent hyperglycemia, it works by decreasing the amount of glucose naturally produced in the liver, decreasing the amount of glucose your body can absorb, and increasing your body's natural sensitivity to insulin.
