Activella is a combination drug consisting of estradiol (synthetic estrogen) and norethindrone (synthetic progestin) to help your body regulate some of the changes associated with menopause, including vaginal irritation (itching, dryness, atrophy), hot flashes, and bone density loss.
Severe side effects require immediate medical attention and may include: breast lump, unusual vaginal bleeding, signs of heart attack, signs of stroke, signs of blood clot, and persistent vomiting. Common side effects only require medical attention if they get worse. These include: depression, insomnia, headache, hair loss, acne, weight gain, breast or back pain, bloating and cramps, nausea, vaginal itching or discharge, and breakthrough bleeding.
