Glyburide is used for:
Treating type 2 diabetes. It is used along with diet and exercise. It may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines. This medicine is a sulfonylurea antidiabetic medicine. It works by causing the pancreas to release insulin, which helps to lower blood sugar.

  How to use Glyburide

How to use Glyburide:

- Use this medicine as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Take this medicine by mouth with food as directed by your doctor.
- If you are taking 1 dose daily, take this medicine with breakfast or the first main meal of the day unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
- High amounts of dietary fiber may decrease this medicines effectiveness, resulting in high blood sugar. If you have questions about fiber in your diet while you are taking this medicine, talk with your doctor.
- This medicine works best if it is taken at the same time each day.
- Continue to take this medicine even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses.
- If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
