This medication is a topical lincomycin antibiotic that works to treat acne vulgaris in adults and teens over the age of 12 by preventing the growth of bacteria on the skin as well as decreasing swelling in affected areas.

  Clindagel Side Effects

Clindagel Side Effects:
The most common side effect of this medication is mild skin irritation, including redness, dryness, mild itching or burning, or oily skin. Some less common side effects can be severe and require immediate medical attention, including allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, hives, swelling in the face or lips, swelling in the tongue or throat) and severe skin reactions (redness, swelling, severe itching or dryness). Some side effects, such as diarrhea, can occur because this medication is an antibiotic that may be absorbed into the blood stream. However, diarrhea can also be a sign of new infection, so talk to your doctor immediately if you experience diarrhea that is watery or bloody.
